How Do I Meet People?

First Baptist Church of Galva is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at First Baptist Church of Galva.

Bible Studies

We have a very strong Adult Bible Study group that meet throughout the year.

The Adult Bible Study is held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM with Pastor Don Reul as the leader.  This group takes a book of the Bible and goes over each verse.

Also every Sunday we offer three Adult Sunday School classes.  One class is led by Jeff Anderson and meets in the Pastors Study.  The Women’s class meets in the Berean Room and is led by Terry Calhoun. The Deacon’s class is held in Dean Hall is is led by Deacon Lynn Sutton.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Their Sunday School class is led by Nancy Sutton, who has a love for Jesus and children!

Family Night + Awana

Every Thursday evening we get together for a “Family Night” where a meal is served and then we split up into groups for Bible Study or Awana.  The children have Awana classes following the meal at 5:30 PM.  This program will be led by Terry Calhoun and it is a wonderful program featuring bible verses, music, games and rewards!   The adults go to the Adult Bible study group, led by Pastor Don.

First Baptist offers several ways to volunteer.  Our Food Pantry is in need of volunteers – it’s a great way to serve the community.  We are always in need of help in the kitchen – for funerals, potlucks and Family Night.  We have a potluck once a month, following the first worship service of the month.  We also ask for help with our children in the Awana program.

We have a Newsletter Mailer group that gets together on the last Thursday of the month to help put together the newsletter and get it ready for mailing.  A snack is served to those who help.

And we are always looking for volunteers to help with various projects, whenever necessary.  Whether it be packing shoes for the Shoes for Orphan Souls program or helping out at our annual garage sale, First Baptist always welcomes volunteers to help us do God’s work.
